The Book of Colossians describes the sufficiency of Christ and our completeness in Him. It addresses and condemns the human tendency to seek after intermediaries such as angels, ceremonies, rites, etc that people might employ in order to try to draw closer to God. This gnostic tendency in alive in the church today--check out the book of Colossians.
