This message from Rom 16:17-20 lays out the problem, describes the predators, gives the process, promotes prudence, and promises a promise as it relates to those who will not receive the doctrine that is taught by us, but yet insist on being a part of us--those who are here to deceive the hearts of the simple.

This section of Romans 5 describes to us the God of Hope. He is our God and we have a very different hope than the world. Hope for the believer is confidence in what we know to be true about our future (from the Word of God). "Hope" for the non-believer is anxious contemplation about what they do not know about their future. As Paul begins to conclude the book of Romans he encourages us to live an abundant spiritual life and disciple others. He then gives us his example of going and preaching in places where the gospel had not been preached according to scripture. In the Living Well class we are endeavoring to do the same with our evangelistic Bible studies.

Weakness is not wickedness. Other's weakness is an opportunity for us to edify them and show charity. We are to receive the weak in faith, but not to doubtful disputations. Doubtful disputations are distractions to discipleship. We are way to busy to get sucked into arguments.

Awake to Spiritual Reality

The Creation to Christ story sets tell about God and His plan. This is better than simply presenting the gospel, because it is more about God's will and plan than it is our wills and plans. This is week 3 in a series about C2C as the Living Well Class begins launching Bible studies.

Week 2 of our series covers, "What is Discovery Bible Study?". This week introduces this method of Bible study which is what we are going to be using to start Bible studies in our communities. Listen to understand how this approach is different from our traditional "S.O.T." Bible studies.

To walk after the flesh is to be carnally minded. This leads to frustration and ultimately death. People who walk after the flesh are not necessarily trying to do evil things, however, they have confidence in themselves , that is, in their ability and performance to achieve what they want to. To walk after the Spirit is to be spiritually minded. It leads to life and peace. To walk in the Spirit, we must have no confidence in the flesh, but rather a willingness to trust God to be in control of our lives.

In order to walk after the Spirit we should get to know him. Check out some of the different ways the Holy Spirit is titled and described in Romans 8.

If we do not discern the body of Christ (1 Co 11:29), we will despise it (1 Co 11:22)

Having covered knowing and reckoning last week, this week's topic is Yielding to God out of Romans 6:12-14. This teaching is something with which all Christians should be familiar. Our victory in the Christian life is dependent on who is in control of our lives, not how hard we try, or how gifted we are.

When the Lord reigns His people rejoice. Lift up the gates to your lives and let the King of Glory in! Romans 5 tells us that there is much more to our Christian lives than just our salvation. The Lord Omnipotent can deal with your addictions, hurts, diagnoses, etc. But He must reign as Lord. Sin and death reigned (past tense), but now that reign is over. Let God's people joy in Him!

To be a child of Abraham is to be a child of Faith. So we trust God for the miraculous, the unexplained, the supernatural, as we put our trust in Him.

Paul ends the section of scripture proving the natural man's guilt before God with this "no-holds-barred" description of Man's unrighteousness using a myriad of Old Testament references. The law reveals unrighteousness, because we cannot follow it. It does not establish our righteousness because we can.

The Jews had certainty of their possession of the truth and their privileged position. However, this led some of them to be pretentious. For those of us with certainty of the words of truth (Prov. 22), and a privileged position of a local church that God is blessing, we must make sure we do not fall into the same trap. We accomplish this by being doers of God's Words, not hearers only.

Mankind is without excuse because we see others do things that we know are wrong. Then we go and do the same things.

Introduction to what is arguably the most important document ever written

Drawing near to God is what He wants. When we do so, many things happen. Listen here for a exposition from Psalm 27:1-6 that brings us to a place of separating from fear unto faith, stumbling enemies, seeking things above, setting up our security, singing joyfully, and shineness as we reflect God to others.

Jonah removed himself from the place where God was working and found himself out of sync with God, out of service, out of society, out of sorts, and out of spiritual families. There is a personal application for us in this as well.

An introduction and these 2 teaching sessions focus on who we are and what we do at MBT. There is a third session in the New Member's material as well that focuses on how we do what we do. It is not included on this recording.

The Word of God is not an adviser for us, it is an authority to us. We need to respond to it accordingly. The words "mine" and "my" are universal (the exception would prove the rule). These possessive words help us to see that there is an issue with the human heart--we desire to possess things as "mine", no just have things. Just as the King of Nineveh arose from his physical throne to get that which is spiritual, we must do the same.

Gospel Workshop

The Foundational Failure of the Flesh is explored as we see the Word of the Lord come to Jonah the second time. Just like in Deuteronomy and in Rom 6-8, The Word of the Lord comes a second time, after the flesh fails to establish righteousness based on the first time. Praise God for His grace and mercy. Jonah had no concern for those who were lost in their sin. God ended up having Jonah swallowed by a whale, so, like the lost, Jonah ended up in the dark and hopeless and alone. God used the situation thought to make the message of Jonah even more powerful. Check it out here.

Consider prophecy as a pattern, not just a prediction in week 7 of our Jonah series. Jonah and the sailors on the ship to Tarshish find themselves in deep water and the solution to their problem is not an easy one.

Jonah was interrogated by the sailors as they tried to figure out who he was and what he had done. Jonah's answer gives us insight into how we are different than the world. It is important that we have a Biblical identity and not let the world (or our own selves even) define us according to who we were in the flesh.

Responding to God moves man upward. When we choose to disobey his leading we will pay for it!

The things the world offers us as sources of satisfaction are cisterns that cannot hold water (Jer 2:13). Like David, we need to see the world as a dry thirsty land (Ps 63:1) and find out satisfaction from God.

This week's teaching lays out a pathway of Christian maturation from the book of Galatians which will help parents train their children in the way they should go.

The home is the hub for our children's lives. It is the HQ for training. For a home to be a Christina one certain things must be in place. We reviews these things focusing on Biblical house rules which will help train godliness and maturity into our children.

Sorry for the inconvenience.*** This is week one of four, so start here in this parenting class and you'll get teaching regarding the family cycle, godliness and Christian maturity as goals for our children and and parental reproduction of those things (as opposed to production).

Wrath is getting "huffy" because we feel offended. It is not justified in our lives, and we are to put is off. This message tells us how. Also, we learn how to let peace rule in our hearts as we submit our free will to God's rule.

Just as we deliberately get dressed every day, we should decide what to put off and put on everyday. This 20 minute message is is about walking in the Spirit by putting off the things of the old man. Check it out here.
