Passage: Ephesians 6:10-20
Ephesians 6:10-20 - Application: SIT: We are “in Christ” Positional reality. WALK: Christ is in us. Practical reality. STAND: A partial defense is practically the same as NO defense against a masterful enemy.

Passage: Romans 16:17-20
This message from Rom 16:17-20 lays out the problem, describes the predators, gives the process, promotes prudence, and promises a promise as it relates to those who will not receive the doctrine that is taught by us, but yet insist on being a part of us--those who are here to deceive the hearts of the simple.

Passage: Romans 16:1-16
As Paul says, "hello" to those in Rome, he describes them through the lens of who they are in Christ and in the ministry. This is instructive for us to see one another rightly. We too are to greet one another with a "Holy Kiss."

Passage: Romans 15:22-33
Just as a person’s language reveals where they are from, a Christian’s “conversation” should reflect his/her citizenship. Even if we cannot determine where a Christian’s home is, we can determine where their heart is as we listen to what comes our of their mouth. (Matt 12:34) The God of peace is with them that speak peace.

Passage: Romans 15:8-21
This section of Romans 5 describes to us the God of Hope. He is our God and we have a very different hope than the world. Hope for the believer is confidence in what we know to be true about our future (from the Word of God). "Hope" for the non-believer is anxious contemplation about what they do not know about their future. As Paul begins to conclude the book of Romans he encourages us to live an abundant spiritual life and disciple others. He then gives us his example of going and preaching in places where the gospel had not been preached according to scripture. In the Living Well class we are endeavoring to do the same with our evangelistic Bible studies.

To focus on the mission as we did during the mission focus conference is refreshing and recharging because to focus on the mission is to focus on what is real (not a break from "real life"), a focus on our purpose, and a focus that frees.

Passage: Romans 14:1-12
Weakness is not wickedness. Other's weakness is an opportunity for us to edify them and show charity. We are to receive the weak in faith, but not to doubtful disputations. Doubtful disputations are distractions to discipleship. We are way to busy to get sucked into arguments.

Sunday, October 06, 2019
Moses' life was divided up into 3 phases, each lasting 40 years. This was no accident--God had it all planned out. These 3 phases provide a pattern for us because we too, like Moses, have been given a mission to accomplish. We must leave the world (pictured by Egypt) which is not our friend, get trained up in ministry, then go back to the world (Egypt), but not as our home, or source of satisfaction, but as our mission field.

The Creation to Christ story sets tell about God and His plan. This is better than simply presenting the gospel, because it is more about God's will and plan than it is our wills and plans. This is week 3 in a series about C2C as the Living Well Class begins launching Bible studies.

Passage: Romans 12:1
Finally we are given the thing God would have us to do. Many Christians miss the most crucial step of all, and the key to walking in the Spirit. Check it out here.
Sunday, April 28, 2019
Passage: Romans 8:8-11
To walk after the flesh is to be carnally minded. This leads to frustration and ultimately death. People who walk after the flesh are not necessarily trying to do evil things, however, they have confidence in themselves , that is, in their ability and performance to achieve what they want to. To walk after the Spirit is to be spiritually minded. It leads to life and peace. To walk in the Spirit, we must have no confidence in the flesh, but rather a willingness to trust God to be in control of our lives.

Passage: Romans 7:7-25
Romans 7 is not about dealing with sin--that was in Romans 6. Romans 7 deals with our service to God, particularly, it addresses our natural tendency to try to serve God in the flesh. The keys to understand this critical chapter include: 1. Romans 7 is not about dealing with sin. 2. We cannot successfully serve God in the flesh. 3. The issue is not trying to do good, or not to do evil, it is, "Who is in control of your life?" Either you are in control (flesh) or God is in control (Stay tuned for Romans 8!)

Passage: Romans 6:12-14
Having covered knowing and reckoning last week, this week's topic is Yielding to God out of Romans 6:12-14. This teaching is something with which all Christians should be familiar. Our victory in the Christian life is dependent on who is in control of our lives, not how hard we try, or how gifted we are.
Sunday, February 10, 2019
Passage: Romans 6:1-14
Romans 6 gives the pathway that enables believers to get victory over sin. Check out this message to hear what God's Word says about the things we need to know, how we are to reckon ourselves, and to whom we yield in order to get this victory.
Sunday, February 03, 2019
When the Lord reigns His people rejoice. Lift up the gates to your lives and let the King of Glory in! Romans 5 tells us that there is much more to our Christian lives than just our salvation. The Lord Omnipotent can deal with your addictions, hurts, diagnoses, etc. But He must reign as Lord. Sin and death reigned (past tense), but now that reign is over. Let God's people joy in Him!
Sunday, January 27, 2019
Passage: Romans 5:1-10
There is more to your Christianity than your salvation. Most Christians never experience the intended spiritually victorious Christian life that God intends because they do not understand how to apply grace through faith to their walk as they did for their salvation.

Passage: Romans 3:9-20
Paul ends the section of scripture proving the natural man's guilt before God with this "no-holds-barred" description of Man's unrighteousness using a myriad of Old Testament references. The law reveals unrighteousness, because we cannot follow it. It does not establish our righteousness because we can.

Paul has a question and answer session in this carefully worded section of Romans 3 preempting some weak objections to the truths he had presented in chapters 1 and 2.

Passage: Romans 2:17-29
The Jews had certainty of their possession of the truth and their privileged position. However, this led some of them to be pretentious. For those of us with certainty of the words of truth (Prov. 22), and a privileged position of a local church that God is blessing, we must make sure we do not fall into the same trap. We accomplish this by being doers of God's Words, not hearers only.

Passage: Romans 1:1-15
Duration: 51:17
We see several important things in the first 15 verses of Romans. Among them are: The identity of a servant must come before the mentality of a called one. Also, Paul the apostle to the Gentiles introduces the gospel to all. This is an ushering in of the church age as we know it. Also, we have a mutual faith. This means that how we live out our faith matters to each other. Getting together matters, How you are doing impacts me, and our interactions in the faith matter. We need each other.

Passage: Jonah 4:6-10
Series: Jonah
Duration: 42:29
There are temporary blessings that we can enjoy, but we need to understand that we do not need them to be happy. In fact, they can distract us from the things that really matter. Passage: Jonah 3:6-9
Series: Jonah
Duration: 37:58
The Word of God is not an adviser for us, it is an authority to us. We need to respond to it accordingly. The words "mine" and "my" are universal (the exception would prove the rule). These possessive words help us to see that there is an issue with the human heart--we desire to possess things as "mine", no just have things. Just as the King of Nineveh arose from his physical throne to get that which is spiritual, we must do the same.

Passage: Jonah 3:3-5
Series: Jonah
Duration: 41:29
The church age is described as a mystery--something previously unrevealed, now revealed. We can see the 2000 years of the church age retrospectively in Jonah in the missing two days between Jonah's message of repentance and his sitting under his booth (as in the feast of Booths picturing the Millennium). Seeing God at work behind the scenes can encourage us to live by faith, not by fear.
