As we begin our survey through 1 Chronicles, we parked on a word study on "begat" that takes us to two stories: Cush begetting Nimrod and Abraham begetting Isaac. These two stories teach us a valuable lesson. We must always let God drive our lives because when we take the steering wheel, we end up in places we don't want to be.

As Paul concludes the second letter to the Corinthians, he uses the word "reprobates" three verses in a row. We take a look at how God uses this word in the Bible and see the severity and criticality of receiving and accepting God's word to us. We examine the great need to follow Christ at any cost and even when no one else will.

This week, we learn about the function of the Holy Ghost. We see in scripture that once we are in Christ, the Holy Ghost doesn't condemn us for our sin. It convicts us and draws us to righteousness through the word of God. Paul exhorts the Corinthians to move past their sin. Paul and the Holy Ghost are not condemning THEM. Paul invites the church to have a heart for the work of God.
